Angela Berasa-Owens is a recent graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, obtaining a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology. She resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband of 10 1/2 years. She has one married daughter who is an HR professional, a granddaughter, and a grandson. She is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where she obtained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged after the Gulf War.

Currently, Angela divides her professional time between operating an at-home tax preparation business for the last 19 years and operating a start-up non-profit to benefit at-risk, unhoused youth. However, she is eager to begin her career in social assistance with a reputable organization that supports all community members who are in need.

Her main passion, however, is writing and publishing a series of children’s books designed to help tender-aged children heal from trauma. Her fledgling publishing company, Reading with a Purpose Publishing is set to publish the inaugural book - the first in a series of biblio-therapy books for children aged 4-9 years - in mid-2027. The books are designed to help children process and deal with traumatic life events such as divorce, the death of a parent, and mental, physical, or sexual abuse.

In her very limited free time, she enjoys watching action movies with her husband, reading, playing word games or playing with their dog Rocco.
